Next you’ve GOT to stop using your cards. Cut them up, freeze them in a tub
of water, whatever you need to do to get them out of your wallet or purse,
do it! You simply can’t keep adding to the problem by running the debt up
any higher. This is actually one of the hardest parts of cutting your
credit card debt. Its like you’re addicted to spending money you don’t
have. So go cold turkey and drop the habit.
Start paying the ones with the highest interest rate first and work from
there. How do you do that? Concentrate on those high interest rate cards
by paying more than the minimum balance each month. The minimum is just
designed to keep you on the hook longer anyway. The credit card companies
are in this business to make a profit and want to have you paying them for

Dalam menghadapi UMPTN (sekarang bernama SPMB), ada beberapa trik yang perlu diperhatikan oleh calon peserta yaitu “INFORMASI MENGENAI SPMB TERSEBUT” yang meliputi:
1. Mencari sumber informasi tentang SPMB yang benar dan terpecaya.
2. Mencari tahu waktu dan tempat pembelian formulir..
3. mengetahui cara mengisi formulir,proses pendaftaran, beserta persyaratannya.
4. Mengetahui Waktu dan tempat penyelenggaraan SPMB..
Tes SPMB banyak menguras energi dan konsentrasi, karenanya dibutuhkan kondisi fisik yang prima. Untuk itu jagalah kesehatan agar persiapan yang telah dilakukan tidak sia-sia. Tidaklah mudah untuk menjaga stamina fisik, sebab umumnya menjelang tes banyak peserta yang belajar mati-matian dan mencoba menghafal materi-materi yang pernah keluar pada UMPTN/SPMB sebelumnya. Untuk menjaga keseimbangan agar kondisi fisik tetap bugar, maka olah ragalah yang cukup dan teratur, makan makanan yang bergizi dan hindari makanan yang merangsang perut atau tenggorokan sakit.
Persiapan mental atau emosi. Kondisikan emosi agar tetap tenang dengan menghindari perasaan tegang, cemas, khawatir serta takut gagal, sebab perasaan negatif tersebut dikhawatirkan dapat menggangu konsentrasi. Bisa-bisa akan mengalami fikiran buntu saat tes. berzikir dan berdo’a akan sangat membantu tentunya tanpa mengurangi ketelitian dan keseriusan. Anggaplah tes SPMB ini bagaikan Try Out (TO) atau tes-tes lain yang pernah diikuti.
Dua atau tiga hari terakhir, manfaatkanlah untuk mereview atau mengulang materi yang sifatnya hafalan sedang latihan soal yang menyita konsentrasi dan energi sebaiknya dihentikan karena banyak sekali soal-soal yang membutuhkan daya ingat. Sekali lagi perhatikan memori yang paling kuat tertanam adalah yang terakhir kali kita pelajari atau kita ulang, untuk itu manfaatkan waktu akhir menjelang SPMB sebaik-baiknya.
Sejak Anda memperoleh Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian dari Panitia Ujian Masuk Lokal (PUML), jangan lupa untuk memfotocopy Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian tersebut, minimal 3 lembar dan disimpan ditempat yang berbeda. Hal ini dimaksudkan bila Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujan yang asli hilang, masih ada foto copynya sehingga akan memudahkan pengurusannya jika kelak Anda lulus ujian SPMB.
Sehari menjelang tes SPMB lakukan survei tempat, lokasi, ruangan ujian. Bagi yang menggunakan fasilitas umum hafalkan rute kendaraanya serta pastikan tidak telat (antisipasi kemacetan). Siapkanlah :
1. Kartu tanda peserta ujian
2. Pulpen
3. Pastikan pensil 2B yang asli (minimum 5 buah yang sudah diraut kedua ujungnya)
4. Rautan
5. Karet penghapus yang lembut dan lunak, tidak kotor
6. Tisu atau sapu tangan terutama bagi yang mudah mengeluarkan keringat
7. Jam tangan
8. (pastikan nomor 1 sampai nomor 8 sudah dimasukkan ke dalam tas)
9. Tidur jangan terlalu malam dan pastikan bisa bangun pagi. Lakukan sholat Subuh dan berdo’alah agar sukses SPMB
10. Mintalah restu dan do’anya Orang Tua/Wali. Cium tangannya
11. Sebelum berangkat bagi yang biasa sarapan pagi, pastikan sudah sarapan pagi.
12. Berangkat lebih awal ketempat ujian, untuk menhindari hal yang tak diinginkan di jalan (macet dll)
